The 9-11 Engineer Castle Icon that is seen here was created by then MAJ Max Diaz-Belmar. This castle icon was created from an inspiration after the falling of the Twin Towers in NYC on September 11, 2001. The combination of the US Flag and the US Army Engineer Castle was a winner. At the time of its creation MAJ Max Diaz-Belmar was a memeber of the 412 Engineer Command in Vicksburg, Mississippi. He later carried the Castle Icon to Hawaii where he served with the US Army Pacific Deputy Chief of Staff Engineer, from there he carried it to the US Army Reserves Medical Command in Pinellas Park, Florida and then returned it to Hawaii and Korea while serving with the transformed 412th Theater Engineer Command and finally to the 411 Engineer Brigade in New Windsor, New York. It has travel to many different countries on humanitarian assistance missions and has been utilized by countless US Army Engineers. This Castle Icon has been made a part of many Awards, Certificates of Appreciation, Name tents, banners and many other uses.
